The Building Code of Australia requires that all residential buildings need to be assessed against the provisions of Section 2.6 & 3.12 of the code.

There are three methodologies for this assessment process:

-          Deemed to satisfy performance provisions

-          Thermal Simulation software

-          Alternative solution

We pride ourselves on our fast turn around times and also offer an “express “service on request.  Zero C is accredited with ABSA (Australian Building Assessors Association) and can offer a unique range of Energy Rating Services nationally, including :

Best practice ESD design advice (Design Stage)

Extend the design of your building and go beyond the minimum compliance requirements to create a state of the art sustainable building.  Sustainable buildings use less energy and water resulting in reduced annual operating costs and the people that live within these buildings are happier and more productive.

Preliminary Design Assessment Service (Design Stage)

It is much easier to make subtle changes to a building design at this stage, prior to the detailed design (including services). This unique service allows you to fine tune your design to ensure that the minimum compliance assessment runs smoothly.

Minimum Compliance Assessment Report – First Rate 5 thermal simulation (Permit Stage)

Provides a detailed compliance assessment report utilizing second generation software (First Rate 5) suitable for building permit applications and includes endorsement of permit drawings.

Minimum Compliance Assessment Report – “deemed to satisfy” (Permit Stage)

Some building designs will suit a “deemed to satisfy provisions” methodology due to their complexity (especially large renovations and extensions ).  This service provides a detailed compliance assessment report demonstrating compliance with reference to the respective Building code requirements. Suitable for building permit applications and includes endorsement of permit drawings.

Alternative solution (Permit Stage)

Some more complex building designs will suit a “alternative solution” methodology.  This service provides a detailed compliance assessment report demonstrating compliance utilising a reference building to the respective Building code requirements. Suitable for building permit applications and includes endorsement of permit drawings.

Net Zero Carbon Emission Plans

Do you aspire to achieve a carbon neutral house design and lifestyle.

In conjunction with the results from the energy rating Zero C can perform the calculations necessary to achieve a Net zero Carbon house in the short term and then after a 12 month review of consumption patterns put the steps in place to achieve a carbon neutral house ( Operational energy ).
